You hold the key to opening the door to your freedom
A different perspective of the familiar
The song that is your life is within you,
now all you have to do is to embrace it and play it.
For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face.
Corinthians 12:13

A view beyond
A balloon for freedom
About me
Hi again and many thanks for showing an interest in my background and me by viewing this page.
I feel both honoured and privileged to work on facilitating and effecting change with people. It can be a truly humbling experience having a fellow human being trusting another with whom to share their innermost thoughts, feelings and concerns often never voiced previously. It is equally humbling to witness and be part of the transformation that frequently takes place as a result of people using select means, notably EFT, to bring this about. I am passionate about introducing self empowering techniques to people so that they can live their life as they would like it to be. A life released from the restriction of how others would like yours to be and by the results of influence and patterns set in motion often at an age where it was not possible to see what was happening or to prevent it.
Most of us at some point in our lives may feel that we are stuck and then often recognise that we may need help in moving out of that stuckness! This in my experience takes much courage as paradoxically much as we want to change those things that are troubling us often it feels safer to stay put - along the lines of better the devil we know ! Sometimes too we feel we should be able to deal with whatever is affecting us on our own.
John Donne, the metaphysical poet said “No man is an island entire to itself” and whilst it can often be important to do some things alone it can also be important to know when it is time to seek the help and support of another who we feel we can trust to meet this need.
In spite of having a childhood that wasn’t easy, not least my father’s death at the age of nine, I was fortunate enough to have at least one consistently caring and understanding adult around me and out of term time the comradery of my sister.
As a child and teenager I also had a thorough and empathic family doctor and spent much time with Dr. Claire Weekes, author of Self Help for Your Nerves and famous for her groundbreaking work with nervous illness and agoraphobia in particular. I witnessed first hand the benefits and results of what conventional medicine and ground breaking alternatives could achieve in the hands of compassionate and skilled practitioners. So from the start the mind and body medicine link became an accepted part of my everyday vocabulary, diet and way of life, and was something I was passionate about! My other passion was music and much of my working life has revolved around my being a composer, musician, teacher and facilitator having trained at the Guildhall School of Music under Professor Alfred Nieman and also at what is now Brunel university. As a teacher I realised early on that any musical problem was merely a translation of an emotional equivalent. So my teaching although musical in principle became holistic in practise. I found myself becoming specialist in certain areas such as so called tone deafness and song-writing.
Despite having a great family doctor I suffered intermittent ill health as a child and teenager, including nephritis, acute repeated tonsillitis and appendicitis ending in both the tonsils and appendix being removed, and severe and prolonged glandular fever.. In 1983 having redeemed my health I was exposed to lethal amounts of Dieldrin, an organochlorate. As a result my health was compromised for many years. Because no one at that time really had the answers to the problems created by such an extreme exposure to Dieldrin music took a back seat and I was given the choice of giving up on restoring my health or connecting with my mind/body medicine background and utilising it to become a medical solve the case Sherlock Holmes! I chose the latter and spent much of my time experiencing and studying many different forms of medicine and healing, both conventional and alternative, relating to both mind and body. Ultimately I created a programme for myself, drawing on elements of many of the alternatives I had pursued, in particular nutrition, herbs, supplements and mind/body work generally. This brought me back to a state of good health.
Often it is only when we lose something that we truly appreciate its value. My experiences have led me to value Happiness, Health and Wellbeing highly and to recognise that these states are what I believe are our birthright and what are intended for us! I have a passion for sharing the principles I have come across for creating and sustaining this birthright especially with those who find that their Happiness, Health and Well-Being is not at the level they would like it to be.
In 2009, I established EFT for Living, a component of Keys to Life, to share the self empowering techniques I have learnt along the way with others. EFT for Living provides individuals with a range of self empowering therapies to help them overcome and release a wide range of problems, concerns and phobias, allowing life to be enjoyed more freely.
I have spoken of the unifying fields which we are all part of and thought that some of you might be interested in how that applies to my creative output. Some of you might even like to embrace the idea and see what is does for your creativity! So here goes!
Connectivity:
One of my deepest passions in life is the connection that links everything and every being. Put another way my focus is unifying connection rather than disparate separateness. This passion runs through my creative work. Despite having been foremost a musician, composer and teacher whatever I turn my hand to creatively also has unifying connection especially regarding the senses. For me the senses act together not separately. As a result photographs will have a story, music, and an atmosphere running with them when they are taken and music will have visual images and words that appear with the music as it is composed! My photographic output is widely diverse. Some of these photos illustrate another of my passions looking at familiar things from many angles, taking a holistic view and approach rather than being limited by a habitual viewpoint which has been reached through familiarity.
Gratitude
I am deeply grateful to all those who have taught me, had faith in me, have been patient with me and supported me bringing me to the place where the making of this website and what it offers was possible. There are simply too many to name individually but you know who you are and I thank each one of you. I am deeply grateful too for the learning not just about web design but about myself that the making of this website has brought about.
Last but not least I am deeply indebted to the great Creator to whom through the ‘interconnect’ of the unifying field we can all connect with.
Thank you.
