Matrix Reimprinting

Matrix Reimprinting was discovered and established by Karl Dawson.  His first book on the subject ‘Matrix Reimprinting using EFT’ co-authored by Sasha Allenby was published in 2010 and his second ‘Transform Your Beliefs Transform your Life’ co-authored by Kate Marillat was published in 2014. Karl Dawson is one of only 29 EFT masters worldwide trained by the founder of EFT Gary Craig.

Matrix Reimprinting which incorporates and adds to EFT is a soft and gentle approach in resolving a myriad of personal issues.  The word Matrix has been used by scientists notably Max Plank and more recently writers like Gregg Braden with his book The Divine Matrix to describe energy in particular energy fields both local and universal.

Matrix Reimprinting works on the assumption that we each have an energy field.  This is nothing new in that human beings are a mass of energy for example our cells and our electrical system

Matrix Reimprinting considers that when we experience a traumatic event and are not able to deal with it at that time

It and the feelings gets trapped or stored in our being in our energy field. This is especially evident when we are children,  So it is like the trauma and associated feelings get allocated to a pending folder waiting for a time when they can be resolved. The field could be in our unconscious or in the energy field that surrounds us and that is where the folder would be stored.  The association with the trauma and accompanying extreme feelings get filed away so we can get on with our lives. This is brilliant as the disassociation created by the filing away is a natural protection mechanism allowing us to get on with our lives. The downside is that the part that has split away that has been put on hold in a file never stops experiencing the trauma.  Anything that occurs in our lives that resonates in any way with the file will bring the file up. Think of your computer if you were to type in pain and had anything related to pain on your hard disc these items would immediately come up. The difference with us humans is the feelings come up too! To compound the problem further we know that the unconscious is not able to differentiate what is real (what is actually happening to us), what is imagined or what has happened in the past. To be more exact the flight or fight response is triggered by the feelings that arise from any one of these three scenarios. This is where by editing and rewriting any painful and traumatic stored files that Matrix Reimprinting steps in! Not only are we able to reimprint at a local level but we can direct the reimprinting out into the wider world.

Matrix Reimprinting is based on a number of key points. One of these is the quantum physics theory that we are all connected by a unified energy field, known as the Matrix. The core principles of Matrix reimprinting are these:-

1. We are all made up of energy that vibrates so fast we appear as solid matter.

2. We are linked by a web that connects us all, known as the Matrix.

3. We send our thoughts out into the Matrix and those thoughts are attracted back to us as life experiences.

4. We can change how we experience life by changing the pictures in the Matrix.

The trapped traumatic energy experience in Matrix Reimprinting has a name Energetic Consciousness Hologram - ECHO for short. Although this energy has no physical being it has consciousness in that is filed in the unconscious/local field. This consciousness will be aware of everything surrounding a particular event.  So in effect if the trauma happened at six years old the file will contain the six year old’s complete version of events.  Using a combination of EFT and the Matrix Reimprinting Protocols we can tap into the events surrounding our six year old’s experience.  We can make a connection with the six year old stuck in his or her suffering and bring whatever is necessary to the situation they are stuck in to change it for the better. Once this is complete the new clear emotional energy can be focused within and when consolidated can be expanded out to the wider world. The local field is changed and the change is then rippled out into the universal field.

This is a particularly powerful and effective way of working with childhood trauma and learnt and stuck conditional patterning from childhood. It can produce exceptional results in a relatively short period of time.

Karl Dawson

I was fortunate enough and privileged to know Claire personally from the mid sixties through to the mid eighties.  During these years spanning my teenage hood through to a young adult Claire spent half of her year in her native Australia and the remainder of her time living at our then family home in London with occasional trips to the states where her work was also very popular I got  to know Claire as if she was a family member as well as witnessing the professional side of her life.  Our home became a distribution point for mail orders for her books and her recordings.  Some days there might be a sackful of orders to process and distribute!  I got to meet some of her patients and hear about others though of course their names would not be mentioned.

So many patients’ lives were simply transformed by her pioneering work on nervous suffering.  Their gratitude and appreciation I remember as being heartfelt and humbling.  One example was an airline pilot who had had to stop work because of panic attacks. Years later he after many attempts to overcome these episodes with different therapists he came across Claire’s work. Within a relatively short time he was able to ‘desensitise’ himself sufficiently to not only free himself of these attacks but to get back to commercial flying which he so loved.  People came to see Claire from all walks of life and with all manner of problems the results she had across the board were palpable.  Indeed my enthusiasm for a holistic view on health was triggered both by experiencing Claire’s work including her book writing and recording and by my Godfather who was our family doctor.

Claire’s life had been extremely varied and pioneering in itself not least that she became the first woman to receive a doctorate of science from the University of Sydney, she was a Macleay fellow of the Linnean Society of New South Wales in 1927-29 and 1932-34. Her doctoral thesis on ‘placentation Amongst Reptiles and Its Possible Bearing Upon the Evolutionary History of Mammals was ground breaking and innovative. She subsequently spent time as a musician notably studying the voice and how best to use it as a singer and to teach the principles she arrived at. She also opened ‘a European Travel Advice Bureau’ in Sydney, ‘planning whole tours economically’. Later she trained as a medical practitioner and had a practice in Sydney! Her major contribution though was to come later as a pioneer and authority on overcoming most aspects of nervous suffering.  This she had no formal training in but the variety of her life experiences in particular an extended period of anxiety she herself had gone through comprehensively equipped her for what she became most well known for.

In simple terms her starting point was that most problems arise from a state of hypersensitivity.  This was in her view something one might come into the world with or inherit as a result of  traumatic life circumstances.

The concise formula that she employed for reducing the hypersensitivity and and the accompanying anxiety states associated with this is as follows:-  Facing, accepting, floating and letting time pass.  An example might be this formula applied to someone with a particular phobia of lifts. Instead of running away and avoiding the issue to actually come face to face with the problem and perhaps go on a short lift ride with someone who was supportive.

To accept the panic and be aware of it doing its thing but recognising that in a way the emperor has no clothes - that this panic is just that a temporary its not life threatening (this being with the caveat that the person has no medical issue that might be affected by the panic). Then to experience a sense of floating feeling the panic but not resisting it and fuelling it further with resistance. Finally to let time pass to go through these motions and to observe the gradual diminishing of the energy attached to the panic.  If you are able to allow the various symptoms that accompany your panics for example churning stomach, trembling and sweaty hands, heart thumping quickly and head aching, then you are truly accepting.  Another feature of Claire’s approach was the recognition of ‘setbacks’ and the secondary fear or panic of the thought of having another episode.  Her methodology in short was to use various strategies to desensitise - to reduce the hypersensitivity to an acceptable level.

The key to her work was always expressing strategies in the simplest terms.  I remember questioning her as to why her writing was so simple her answer was that anyone with acute nervous suffering finds it hard to read anything so it had to be written simply. Something I grew to learn as being so true! Many of her methods for not only coping but overcoming nervous suffering were things that one could use and monitor on a day to day basis. Truly self help as her first and brilliant book ‘Self Help for your Nerves lays out.  This was a very different approach from that of the time where patients were tied in to very regular sessions with psychiatrists.

I believe that had Claire still been alive she would have been very interested in EFT I remember her showing an interest in acupuncture and buying a book on the subject.  I would have enjoyed sharing my experiences of EFT and hearing her views.  The continuing volume of sales of her work in the written word and on audio serve to remind how effective it still is furthermore the views of many doctors and practitioners who still praise her work and how ahead of its time it was only add to its worth.

Everyday Nutrition

There are two immediate aspects that spring to mind when talking about nutrition. The first is the importance of having a balanced and healthy diet as part of staying well and giving the body and mind what it needs to achieve this. The second is that when we become ill we need to support our immune system and our bodies and minds to return to health and balance and again healthy eating has an important role to play here. There is a further consideration and that is regarding people who are suffering from nervous illnesses such as depression and anxiety.

Whilst medication in critical cases is often needed short term people in the midst of nervous suffering or depression often are too weary to look after themselves properly and the lack of beneficial nutrition is actually exacerbating their condition.

Moreover and frequently overlooked is the fact that insufficient intake or absorbtion of certain key key nutritional ingredients may lead to physical/mental health problems.  The following link from Psychology Today shows how important just one mineral Zinc is in our bodily functions. This is especially so regarding our brain function where most of the zinc in our bodies is found!  The article also shows what happens if the body runs low on zinc which is not readily stored in our system.

Certainly in addition to a balanced diet and healthy life style supplements paid an important part in my road to recovery from acute exposure to Dieldrin an organochlorate. (See about me) Supplementation plays an important part in illnesses like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Also they often provide a very good solution to those who find they have sleeping problems. I feel that part of any healing protocol whether it be allopathic or complementary should embrace nutrition as part of the recovery strategies.

Other Therapies

Whilst I am passionate about EFT and it remains my preferred choice over time I have found that it is often beneficial to include aspects from the other therapies listed above. Part of my focus on EFT is that it works so well for so many issues and problems with so many people! However it is good to offer a choice and so the other areas I have had training and experience in are listed above with detailed descriptions below. Relaxation Techniques including Meditation and Ho’oponopono

Given the increasing stresses of everyday 21st century life it is important to have ways that are simple and not time consuming to address them. All the above therapies include simple things one can do during everyday living but its useful to look at helpful ways of dealing with specific stresses such as those in work situations.  Ways that you can get yourself back on your feet if caught off balance. Looking at re framing the way we can be affected in some situations can be very effective as can having particular thoughts and memories to turn to under stress. All add to a personalised de-stressing toolkit. Each person has different needs so whilst there are universal destressing techniques often we have our own methods which we are not necessarily always aware of. Having things that are special to and work for you to turn to can be liberating.

Although not trained In Ho’oponopono I am a big fan and training is on my to do list. This is not specifically a relaxation technique but its practice leads to a very relaxed way of being.  It is an ancient haiwaiian ritual and way of life it has been described as the Hawaiian ritual of forgiveness. In the section on Law of Attraction I talked about the unified field of energy that we are all part of so that we although we may feel that we are seperate we are nevertheless interconnected with everything and everybody! Nothing happens out there that does not have an effect on the observer in turn what we think say and do also has an effect on the world and people around us. It follows that anything negative that we resonate with can only be healed across the board if we heal the relevant inner resonance we are experiencing. This has parallels with EFT and Matrix Reimprinting. Essentially the process of clearing out of date and negative data is the common denominator.  Ho’oponopono achieves this with four simple, powerful and short healing and cleansing statements.  These are:-

I love you  - This applies to yourself, to a person, to everyone, to everything, and to whatever you might name the bigger picture, God, the Universe, Source, The Absolute, etc.

I’m sorry - as above  including circumstances and that you had not been able to see things clearly.

Forgive me - That I have been so distracted that I have not known how to resolve and heal the negative disruption

Thank you - for allowing me to see clearly now and giving me the opportunity of resolving this.

Simple huh!  This is something you can silently repeat wherever you are and in whatever situation that you find yourself unsettled. If you like the unresolved parts of us are regularly being mirrored back to us.  If we are able to observe this by sharpening our awareness then we can truly be involved not only in the healing of ourselves but on a Universal scale.

Meditation is another great way of preparing for the day and ending the day. Often those who have no conscious spiritual affiliation think meditation is for the religious or deeply spiritual.  This is not the case however with consistent meditation practise it is likely that  you will recognise changes in your beliefs and attitudes. With the special you time that comes with meditation it can become possible to connect with yourself and remember what it is like to be at peace. Regular use of meditation allows for that sense of peace to be present more of the time in day to day life. This makes for a smoother running day with less jars and jolts!  In simple terms healthy mind - healthy body!

‘Meditation can help us embrace our worries, our fear, our anger; and that is very healing. We let our own natural capacity of healing do the work.’ Thich Nhat Hanh Thích Nhất Hạnh is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist.

‘Meditation makes the entire nervous system go into a field of coherence.’ Deepak Chopra Deepak Chopra is an American author, public speaker and alternative medicine advocate.

‘Mindful meditation has been discovered to foster the ability to inhibit those very quick emotional impulses.’ Daniel Goleman  Daniel Goleman is an author and science journalist

‘Meditation is to be aware of every thought and of every feeling, never to say it is right or wrong, but just to watch it and move with it. In that watching, you begin to understand the whole movement of thought and feeling. And out of this awareness comes silence.’ Jiddu Krishnamurti Jiddu Krishnamurti was a philosopher, speaker and writer.

‘When you're a kid, you lay in the grass and watch the clouds going over, and you literally don't have a thought in your mind. It's purely meditation, and we lose that.’ Dick Van Dyke Richard Wayne Van Dyke is an American actor, comedian, singer, dancer, writer, and producer. He is the older brother of Jerry Van Dyke and father of Barry Van Dyke

Reiki/healing

In some ways writing about healing is difficult as many people see hands on healing as being strange and that it could not possibly work! The irony is that we all have the gift of healing it is just that some of us either don’t realise or accept this or are not necessarily interested. The fact is that this form of healing in one way or another has existed across the globe for several thousand years. There are various schools or Reiki the most prominent being that handed down by Dr. Mikao Usui 1865 - 1926.  Dr Usui believed that to be able to make a difference to another person it was essential that the ‘healer’ first healed himself by taking responsibility for themselves, in particular their health and well being.  He conceived five basic principles

Just for today, do not be angry

Just for today, do not worry
Just for today, be grateful
Just for today, work hard
Just for today, be kind to others.

It is interesting how there are recurring themes within the basic principles in the various therapies/techniques that are outlined on this website. In the above basic principles it is interesting to look at the opposites to get a really good grasp of the power behind the for today suggestions.

Anger - Calm

Worry - Peace

Grateful - Ungrateful

Work hard - Be lazy

Be kind - Be unkind

Then its interesting to see how  these directives would affect the person using them and also how those in the presence of such company would feel. It is easy to see why Dr. Usui felt that the healer needed to take responsibility for his own well being first.

So what is Reiki. “Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy, and is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing,  It is a Japanese healing technique restoring natural balance to mind, body and spirit, Essentially it promotes deep relaxation, and a sharpening of awareness. This is achieved by using various hand positions either just above the body or on the body itself. Like so many other ancient systems this increases the energy flow within the body bringing it back tp its natural state. Again the factory reset analogy is appropriate where the original default level of energy and homeostasis is restored. Despite any underlying condition Reiki generally leaves the recipient in a better and more confortable place.  It is important to note that there is no requirement of any religious belief system for reiki to have a beneficial effect.  This also is true of the other modalities mentioned on this site. I would go further and say that in most cases there will be beneficial results with these modalities without even believing in the system itself!

I have mentioned elsewhere that it’s possible that a more ‘spiritual’ perspective may start to emerge!

I also use a less structured more intuitive version of healing myself. So there are no formal hand positions rather a scanning of the body and then resting places where any disturbance is felt. I began to recognise that changes occur using these techniques at a young age but only used them in personal circumstances for example in relationship where someone was poorly or in pain and asked for help.  I also felt awkward about the whole concept probably picking up the sceptical view shared by society generally.  However I was drawn to the CHA Complementary Healing Association and studied healing in depth with JoAnn Bailey along with Reiki. JoAnn is an amazing teacher having started her training in the medical world as a nurse later to become a matron and she founded CHA in 1965. The CHA is a UK national charity that relies on donations for its funding.

There is fast growing evidence to support Riki and healing in general.  Indeed like EFT the NHS is adopting Reiki and Reiki is now being used in many prominent hospitals. It is being seen by doctors that patients

recover at a faster rate with less pain when they are given Reiki!  Reiki/healing very much fit the role of being complementary techniques although they can stand alone in their own right they can speed recovery and amplify any positives as a result of a patient undergoing allopathic medical treatment or surgery.

Like EFT reiki/healing are simple and gentle ways of returning to a balanced state when there has been imbalance.

Dr.William Bengston’s research amongst others is very interesting - see link below.

All the therapies explored and discussed on this website have at their core Love and Compassion. There are two key words in our living experience of emotions one is love and the other is fear. I have found it useful to look at the emotions that are generated from both of these two master words. The list is not complete but it gives you the idea!

                                                       Love                                                                Fear

It can be seen from the above that living with love as your key word allows for the flow of qualities listed below whereas living in fear gives the flow a very different feel.

Lao Tzu an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer sums this up very succinctly.

‘I have just three things to teach, simplicity, patience and compassion. These are your greatest treasures.’

In another quote he goes further.

‘Because one believes in oneself one doesn’t try to convince others.  Because one is content with oneself we don’t need others approval. Because one accepts oneself the whole world accepts him or her.’

Of course we are all human and therefore we are prone to fallibility in its various guises. We do however have choice.  With the opening of our awareness and extending of our perception we can if we so choose whenever we feel pulled away from Love pause for a moment and remember where the path of fear leads. It is in reality a lonely and desolate path.  The therapies discussed in this website all help restore any imbalance of emotion and to bring you to a place of inner peace and contentment.  Whether you choose to try anything that this website offers or not my wish for you is if you have not already found inner peace and contentment and the ability to roll with the punches that life sometimes appears to deliver that you find a way of discovering these inner treasures.

‘You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and attention.’ Buddha

‘Your task is not to seek for love but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it’  Rumi
